HONORING
VETERANS OF
COOS COUNTY
NOVEMBER 11, 1984
The county seat was moved to Coquille from Empire in 1896, and has managed to maintain that status despite the fact that most of the county's population live in the Coos Bay/North Bend urban area, some 20 miles away, close to the original seat in Empire.
This building is located in the center of town not far from the historic city hall and other government offices. The county sheriff's office and jail are located here.
There is a plaque honoring all veterans on the front of the building.
