This post is a state line boundary marker, located at the Dunstable, MA, and Nashua, NH border. It is the 83rd marker post east from the NH southwest corner, set along the MA/NH border. It is alongside a country back road named Gregg Road in NH, and Main Street on the MA side.

Originally, the top of this post should have a groove cut across it's surface, denoting the actual surveyed boundary line. That groove is missing. In addition, there was a USGS bench mark disk set in the post top, on the NH side of the groove; this disk is missing completely. Because both features are no longer evident, it is safe to say that the top of this post has been altered from it's original form, because the top of the post has been dressed to a smooth surface with just a small hole present in the center. It is also possible that this post may have been replaced completely, making this post a facsimile of the original, particularly if the original post was extensively damaged by a possible vehicular strike.

The post is granite, and 14 inches square at the top, with the aforementioned altered condition. The inscription 'D MASS 1894' is cut into the south face, and 'N NH 1894' is cut into the north face. As a boundary monument, it can be classified as in good condition. However, as a geodetic survey point, it is classified as 'destroyed', because the original mark set in top of the post has been removed, and no reset has been performed.

According to the NHDOT Geodetic Control Datasheet, The station disk was set in the post by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1951, and stamped -83-. The last documented recovery by NHDOT was performed on Sept. 6, 1973. The NHDOT ID# is 315-0420.
