Henry A. London was a lawyer, state senator, and founder-editor of the Chatham Record, a newspaper continuously in publication since 1878. The Winnie Davis chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy was founded at this home in 1898 by London's wife, Bettie Louise Jackson, and others.
