Lowthers Lake is an oxbow lake in The Great Pee Dee River area! It has one public boat landing "Whipples Landing" located on Georgetown Road! There is great fishing here for Bream, Bass, Crappie and catfish also known for its large Mudfish(Bowfin) also Herring migrate here every spring, all the way from the North Atlantic Ocean! A very lot of them never make it back to the sea!!

Recommended tackle: Crickets, live and rubber worms!

Just a cane pole with a cricket along the banks or trolling jigs or spinners
