From the San Jose State website: "The Epsilon Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi was established on March 1, 1952. It was a long and arduous journey from its humble beginnings as the De Molay club, to a local fraternity, and ending in the establishment of the Sigma Chi Charter. Since then our chapter has been awarded 15 Peterson Awards, awarded to the significant chapters among the 220 in the country at the Grand Council, the most recent was won in 2005. The chapter has also won San José States President’s Cup awarded to the best fraternity on campus, basketball and soccer intramural championships, best overall G.P.A., outstanding philanthropy, chapter relations, member education, and public relations."
