Cruises run Memorial Day through Labor Day. Tickets can be purchased at the Pizza King restaurant by the dock. There are concessions and souvenirs on board, including great popcorn. There are also on board facilities. For schedules and ticket prices, visit ridethedixie.org. Don't miss the links on that site for links to great history and Dixie stories, including old photographs.
The Dixie provides a beautiful 90 min ride around Lake Webster. Its a wonderfully peaceful ride narrated to give you a little bit of history of the lake and cottages along it and also a little quite time just to enjoy the scenery. If it wasn't a wonderful ride this boat wouldn't still be giving tours after over 80 years! Yes it's the same boat doing the same thing it has for generations (although it also served as the post office, grocery store and mobile blacksmith service as well as give scenic rides when a model T engine used to power the paddle wheel).
Be sure to catch this one, the ride, the boat, the history, its just as much a part of Indiana as its name!
