In the opening of her article concerning St-Pierre & Miquelon, Patricia Schultz implies that one can drive to this French territory. That is not the case. One can fly from St. John's, Halifax or Montréal. One can also take the passenger-only ferry from Fortune, Newfoundland.
Most shops in the town of St-Pierre are closed Saturday afternoons and Sundays. "On Sunday mornings, the only business likely to be open is the pastry shop! Don't miss out on North America's best croissants!" (tourism web site)
If you are feeling more adventurous, my favourite event on the islands has been "Les 25 km de Miquelon: the widely popular Miquelon Marathon, a 15 1/2 mile foot race through gravel, sand, hills, and on a good day...very thick fog!" (tourism web site) That event is usually scheduled for the last Saturday in June.

Visit Instructions:
Because of the vastness of many of the "non-localized" sites (Gobi Desert, Great Wall of China), waymark owners are encouraged to allow visits that reflect different perspectives and experiences.
Localized waymark sites (Structures, Landmarks, Businesses) should reflect standard waymarking visit criteria (Logs & photos).
