As an attempt toward urban renewal, the Edison Brother Company repainted the exterior of the old J.C. Penney warehouse. Richard Haas designed and painted the mural in 1985 to depict some aspect of the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.
The focal point of the West Elevation is the statue "The Plain" by Lorado Taft.
Today, visitors can stay inside the building since it is now the Sheraton St. Louis City Center Hotel & Suites.
Do not attempt to visit this waymark from Interstate 64. This must be visited along local streets.
