The plaque reads:

This bridge that spans Pernick Creek and Lake Genezereth is dedicated to Monsignor John T. Gordon in recognition of his devoted ministry and many achievements as Director of the Archdiocesan Cemeteries. This honor was bestowed on Monsignor Gordon by His Eminence, Adam Cardinal Maida, Archbishop of Detroit, at the 1995 All Souls Day Mass celebration at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
