The Armed Forces Plaza in front of Hauppauge's H. Lee Dennison building has many statues and monuments recognizing Suffolk County veterans and those who have lost their lives.
The plaza has statues, monuments, plaques and more representing various event in United States' history: Korea, Vietnam, WWII, Sept. 11 and the "forgotten wars." The memorial is open from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week. There is no sufficient outdoor lighting of this area at night.
Visitors are permitted to take pictures of the memorial and leave behind tokens, such as flowers or flags in honors of their veterans and loved ones .
