This bright yellow and blue abstract is a work by Lyman Kipp, known for sculpting pieces of geometric shape and bright primary colors. Hudson Bay was originally located by the Harvill Bldg. on campus, but was moved when students continually used it for posting flyers. The sculpture was moved to the fine arts courtyard and repainted. However, as of the time of this waymark submission, the plaque is still located in the sidewalk by the Harvill Bldg. Thank you to Team2002 for locating the plaque and providing the following coordinates:

The piece has three tall yellow beams, with the blue horizontal cross-shaped piece attached on top. There are several other sculptures in this same courtyard by the Music, Drama, and Photography buildings. A concrete foundation about 6 inches tall supports the sculpture.

Description:

Abstract sculpture consisting of four rectangular columns, each 96 x 24 x 12 inches, connected at the top by a 12 inch high metal piece in the shape of a Greek cross. The upright columns are painted yellow and the cross shape is painted blue.
