A Gurdwara is a Sikh place of worship. The Sikh Gurdwara - San Jose is the largest Gurdwara In North america and probably the largest outside of India. At $32 million dollars to build, the 110,000-square-foot building is also the most expensive.

The first phase of Gurdwara construction was completed in 2004 with the entire infrastructure costing 12 Million Dollars. The grand opening of phase 2 of the construction, a prayer hall that can hold 1,500 worshipers, was on April 10, 2011. The second phase cost 20 million dollars, making this Gurdwara the most expensive, at $32 million dollars total.
