The frozen formations of Garden of the Gods attract millions to this unparalleled sandstone garden. This giant sandstone formation, appropriately named Balanced Rock, stands precariously on its much smaller base. The soft shale material of the base eroded more quickly than the more resilient sandstone above, creating this amazing spectacle.

Balanced Rock is located on the southwestern side of the Garden of the Gods park. It is located right on Garden Drive and you can't miss it, it's right on the side of the road and parking is available here.
