This pub is in the new town and was previously called 'The Hyde'.
Now, however, it has been re-named 'The Vincent Motorcycle'. The Vincent was built in Stevenage. Perhaps the best known of their motorcycles was the Black Lightning racer, although some would argue that that epithet should go to the 'Black Shadow', a road going 998cc beast.
Vincent motorcycles were produced in Stevenage between 1928 and 1955. The company continued producing other items until 1959.
