NOS 853 3615 B Tidal, NJ, is a National Ocean Service (NOS) tidal station disk located along the south side of 6th Street in the Borough of Barnegat Light, Ocean County, NJ. The disk is set on the top of a copper-clad steel rod and flush with the surface between the southwest curb of 6th Street and the sidewalk along the southwest side of the road. It is 20.0 feet west of wood utility pole number BT 37 BG P24284, 17.7 feet northeast of the northwest corner of a chain-link fence that enclosed a tennis court, 6.2 feet north of the chain-link fence, and 2.0 feet south-southwest of the south curb of 6th Street. The disk is bent, but appears to be solid in its mounting. The disk was monumented by Norman Porter Associates (presumably under contract to the NOS) in 1976, and is stamped 3615 B 1976. In May, 1995, the NOS described the station and recovered it in good condition. In June, 2001, the New Jersey Geodetic Survey documented the station for inclusion in the National Spatial Reference System (National Geodetic Survey database). It is in the NGS database at PID = AM6913 (visit link) . To reach from the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 63 to State Highway 72 eastbound. Go east on State Highway 72 for about 7.7 miles to the intersection with Long Beach Blvd. Turn left and go northeast on Long Beach Blvd (known as Central Avenue in the Borough of Barnegat Light) for about 8.3 miles to the intersection with Broadway leading northwest. Turn (half) left and go northwest on Broadway for about 0.17 miles to the intersection with 6th Street. Turn left and go west-northwest on 6th Street for about 400 feet to the tennis court and the station on the left.
