Figurative sculpture at entrance to John Arthur Carillo Northeast Heights Community Police Substation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sculpture depicts a policeman kneeling beside a young girl. The sculpture is over seven feet tall and is cast in bronze.
The plaque on the the base of the sculpture reads: "TO SERVE and PROTECT"/BY/STORM D. TOWNSEND ALB., N.M./COMMISSIONED BY THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE/1% FOR ART PROGRAMME 1983
Also of note at this police substation is a large xeriscape garden which is maintained by the Albuquerque Police Department where one can stroll and see many native plants.
