Chickasha is the County Seat of Grady County, which lies approximately 40 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. The county has a population of 45,600. Grady County was created in 1907 at statehood, from Caddo and Comanche counties of Oklahoma Territory.
The county offices and courts are located at 326 W. Choctaw Avenue, in a beautiful Art Deco courthouse building, constructed in 1934-1935, which is on the National Register.
The building has frieze artwork and benches dedicated to Oklahoma at the front of the building.
Another item in this Lucky 7 is a pool hall that has been around for decades. There is a rumor it's just about ready to close - I sure hope not. The old neon sign out front is a classic.
