The church of All Saints is an important Anglo Saxon Church one of the finest in the country. Parts date back to the 8th - 9th century.
The Dormer Monuments occupy a vey prominent place in this Church.
The Monument to Sir Robert Dormer is in the Classical style influenced by Italian and French Renaissance, the tomb chest is garlanded like a Roman altar and is underneath a canopy on Corinthian columns.

The monument to Henry Fynes, dated 1758, the sculptor is thought to be Louis Francois Roubiliac who emigrated to England from France around 1723. The work is simple but very accomplished, with a tearful figure of a putto lifting a curtain from the funerary urn.
