The Boulders OHV area is a top destination for those who like to play in the dirt near Phoenix. The coordinates listed is for the main staging area. This area is named the Boulders OHV area for the large boulders at the staging area. The staging area is large and camping is allowed. Rest rooms are available.

The trails are well signed and can take you miles into the back country between Lake Pleasant, Wickenburg, and Castle Hot Springs Road. The main staging area is on BLM land, as is most of the nearby designated trails. However, depending on where you roam, you may find yourself on State Trust land as well.

There is a good mix of difficulty levels from easy (there's even a kids lot at the staging area), to moderate, to steep and difficult, to advanced single-track. Know your abilities and don't try to go down something you can't get back up, and vice-versa!

Permit: All OHVs will require a Arizona OHV Decal. The OHV Decal allows for crossing State Trust Land or riding on trails. As long as you camp or stage on BLM land, no other permit is required. If you camp or stage on State Trust land, then you will need a State Land Recreation Permit.
