This station is a MassDPW standard bench mark disk, located in Townsend, MA. It is set in the northeast corner of the landing platform at the front entrance of the Hart Free Library. The description is as follows:
IN TOWNSEND CENTER,ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MAIN STREET (ROUTE 119), 250 FEET SOUTHEAST OF BRIDGE OVER SQUANNACOOK RIVER, IN FRONT STEPS OF HART FREE LIBRARY.
The Hart Free Library is currently vacant, but easily accessible. It is at the junction of Main St. and Riverbank Terrace. The mark is outside the railing at the corner post.
