In 2003, Zippy and Griff visited the classic Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop in Gainesville, Florida, USA. Zippy thinks their doughnuts have the perfect chew profile and loves how sweet they are! Who doesn't? Except Griff, that is.

This Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shop was constructed in the 1960s and still retains the hallmark green tile roof and heritage neon road sign from that era. The building also has a classic rooftop crown sign that is apparently outlined with red neon. This looks like an original sign, but the Zippy strip shows a different sign on the roof so it's not clear if the Zippy strip is incorrect or if the sign has been replaced since the strip ran in 2003. Regardless, we weren't at this site at night so we weren't able to get a nighttime photo with the sign lit, but there's a nighttime shot of the sign on the internet

"Krispy Kreme is the name of an international chain of doughnut stores that was founded by Vernon Rudolph in 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The parent company of Krispy Kreme is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. and is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States.
While selling assorted types of doughnuts, Krispy Kreme's signature item is a glazed doughnut that is traditionally served warm. Along with their own Krispy Kreme brand store locations their products are sold in supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, gas stations, Wal-Mart and Target stores in the United States."
