The Pythian Castle was designed by the Boise-based architectural firm of Tourtellotte & Company in 1904. The firm was the most important architectural firm in Idaho’s history.
The medieval revival castle-like building was built as the lodge hall for the Knights of Pythias in Weiser, Idaho. By 1913, the building was the Star Theater showing silent films and an organ was installed in 1921. (
