EN: The Gallery started work on 1 January 1953 in Ceske Budejovice as a regional gallery. After three years, it moved in the renovated Neo-Gothic castle riding hall in Hluboká (author of the original building from the years 1845-47 was the Viennese architect Franz Beer; author of the reconstruction in the years 1953-55 was the Budweiser architect Jaroslav Fidra). During its fifty years of existence, it held a large number of exhibition events, extensive displays, as well as small travelling exhibitions, some of which have been inherently inscribed in the history of Czech art, its presentation and its understanding.
