The province of Drenthe houses all but two if the 53 cataloged Dutch dolmen, called "hunebed" in Dutch.
The D10 lies right of the way guest gasteren . There is a wide parking place. The D10 is a small and incomplete dolmen .

Source: the rocks of the Dutch dolmen are thought to have been moved here during the Ice Age, when the land ice stretched to the middle of the country as we now know it.
Purpose: Even though "hunebedden" are often thought to be burial grounds, there is ample evidence that corpses were burnt instead of buried. Some of the "hunebedden" do contain artifacts thought to be to help deceased people on their last voyage.
