The sculpture was created in 2002. It's fifty feet tall, twenty-two feet wide, and one foot thick. It weighs 24,000 pounds.
Fort Worth Weekly recalls that back when he was under construction, many people thought the Man was dumb or ought to have a cowboy hat instead of a fedora. Others think he helps bring Fort Worth into the 21st century. Either way, he makes people talk and think.
