A white granite monument stands in Semper Fidelis Memorial Park at the Marine Corps Heritage Center in Triangle, VA., honoring all the members of the seagoing Marine detachments who served on naval ships -- soldiers of the sea. The monument has a diamond-shaped center column with two wings.

The monument was placed on November 15, 2007 and dedicated on April 25, 2008 by the USSMA. It is found along the memorial walk near the Semper Fi Memorial ChapelClick for related waymark to open in new window and overlooks the National Museum of the Marine CorpsClick for related waymark to open in new window. The park, chapel, and museum are open daily to the public from 9 AM to 5 PM except for Christmas. There is no admission to any of the facilities.
