This church was built in 1887 because of a disagreement on some doctrinal points with the United Lutheran church. Because of the merger of the three Norwegian churches in that area in 1919, this building was no longer needed.
The church building was donated to a sister Lutheran congregation that had organized in the city of Adams, WI. It was carefully disamantled and transported to this location and rebuilt as it stood near Arkdale, WI.
There is a Historical Marker at the old location near Arkdale, WI. Waymark (WMAX4M).
The corner stone has the date as September 11, 1921.
