Am 23.05.1915 war die Batterie Predilsattel noch vollkommen armiert, da die Zufahrt zur neuen Kavernenbatterie unterhalb des Predilkopfes nicht rechtzeitig fertig stellen konnte. Auch der 180m lange Zugangsstollen und die Aussprengungen der beiden Geschützkavernen, Bereitschaftsräumen und Munitionsnischen konnten durch den dauernden Bohrmaschinenmangel nicht benutzt werden.
In der Nacht zum 26. Mai 1915 wurde das erste Geschütz aus der Geschützkasematte, samt Lafette in die Kavernenbatterie gebracht. Alle anderen Geschütze feuerten weiterhin auf die erkannten Ziele.
Am 27.Mai 1915 erfolgte der erste Beschuss aus italienischen 149mm Geschützen und am 29. Mai schlugen die ersten Granaten aus einem 210mm Mörser ein. Am 11.Juni 1915 war das zweite Geschütz mit der Munition in das Kavernenwerk untergebracht und begann zu feuern. Die Italiener feuerten am 12.Juni mit 305mm Geschützen in Salven zu 2 Schuss auf das Werk. So musste auch das 3. Geschütz ausgebaut und in das Kavernensystem gebracht werden.
Jetzt erst merkte der Feind das auslagern der Geschütze und versuchte einen Schartentreffer in der Kavernenstellung zu landen, was ihm aber nie gelang. 1917 wurden die Geschütze fahrbereit gemacht um an der obertitalienischen Tiefebene zum Einsatz zu kommen.
Die Kärntner Werke und Sperren wurden nach dem Durchbruch am Isonzo im Oktober 1917 nicht mehr benötigt und als nicht mehr ausbesserungsfähig angesehen, so waren sie dem Verfall preisgegeben.
