The statue was sculpted by sculptor Robert Tait McKenzie, a surgeon, physical educator, artist and sculptor who was a personal friend of the Boy Scouts founder Sir Robert Baden-Powell. (Statue removed on the reorganization of the Boy Scouts and the closing of this office.)
