In the small town of Bellavista, Mexico, the former textile factory is now a museum...a memorial to the workers who died here fighting for their union,
The town square has a pillar in its center with a plaque which reads:

POR LA SIGNIFICACION DE LA
LUCHA DE LA CLASE OBRERA

LA PRIMERO HUELGA EN MEXICO
EN EL PRESENTE SIGLO Y
LA FUNDACION EN ESE LUGAR
DEL PRIMER SINDICATO OBRERO
DEL NOROESTE DE LA REPUBLICA
EL DIA 7 DE MAYO DE 1916.
SE DECLARO MONUMENTO HISTORICO
DEL ESTADO, LIBRE Y
SOBERANO DE NAYARIT.

which translates to:
