The town of Phuket is located on the south east side of the island of Phuket, away from the busy resorts and five star tourist hotels on the west coast of the island. To the west of the town is Rang Hill. The top of this hill is a local recreation spot with restaurants, play grounds and so forth. One the east side of the hill, is a lookout over Phuket town approximately two kilometres to the south east.
There is a good view of the town, plus the surrounding suburbs. Entrance is free, and their is a covered lookout area. The lookout is easily reached via road. There is public transport to this spot, and the occasional tourist bus.
