This history sign is located about a mile west of the Malheur/Harney County Line in Harney County along Whitehorse Road.Marker Name: Camp C.F. Smith
Marker Text: Begun May 1866 to protect Oregon Central Military Road. Abandoned Nov. 9, 1869. Then ranched by John S. Devine. Became part of Miller and Lux Cattle Empire in 1889.
