In 1863, Alvino Barrera rented house No. 18 with "privilege" to sell liquor, but in 1865, it may have been used as a butcher shop. In 1878, the home became medical offices for Dr. Smith E. Winn, Dr. J. underwood Hall Jr., and others, as well as a justice house for Theodore Shaw, Alexander Innes, and George Lighthall.
