This is the only brick building in downtown Mantorville, Minnesota. All other buildings are made of cut limestone. By 1896 the limestone quarry had shut down and so the builders turned to brick as an alternative. Today it remains very true to it's original design with only a few revisions. The building served as the town saloon prior to becoming a post office.
