The corporation 'Bombeiros Voluntários Lisbonenses' was estabilished more than 100 years ago, in December 12th, 1910. Eduardo Augusto Macieira was the first commander.
This building was inaugurated in May 10th, 1925, and still works as a firehouse nowadays.
«Foi uma festa brilhante a que assistiu, como delegado da Câmara Municipal, o sr. vereador Aurélio Neto e na qual foram saudados os beneméritos que têem sacrificado a sua existência em prol do bem comum. Num discurso excelente Nuno Simões, que é um ilustre orador, marcou bem o alcance dessa obra interessante e utilissima que tem o seu grande lugar na filantropia corajosa da capital. Também o Dr.João Luís Ricardo falou neste sentido, merecendo os Voluntários Lisbonenses todas a s homenagens de que foram alvo.»
