The weather radar easurements were started here in 1969 when on the observatory building was installed Czech prototype TESLA RM-2. In 1976-78 was built tower for a new radar, which was installed in 1979. It was Soviet provenience weather radar MRL-2. This radar was exchanged in 1989 with a new version of the radar MRL-5, but measurements were performed in these times "manualy". In 1992-93 was the measuremts of the radar digitalized. After instalation of the other weather radar in Moravia formed the weather radars backbone network in Czech Republic. In 2000 was put into operation a new modern radar built southwestwardly from Prague in Brdy Forest and now the old radar in Prague serves as a reserve source for weather radar measurements.
