Das Stadtwappen zeigt vor goldenen Hintergrund eine blaue Burg mit Tor und zwei Türmen. Über dem Tor ist der rotgekleidete Rumpf eines Bischofs dargestellt. Das Wappen bezieht sich somit auf die Stadtherrschaft durch die meißnischen Bischöfe.
