This caboose is on a small section of track laid on the riverfront in Henderson, KY. It is in Audubon Mill Park, which contains a boat-ramp into the Ohio River, a large child's playground, a water splash park, and a large field that is used for concerts throughout the summer months.
The caboose is a red Louisville & Nashville car #6472 there is a stamp with L&N 6472 on both sides of the center sill.
Kentucky Railfan lists it as the former 6472. It was also used as a Seaboard System Railroad (SBD) caboose and was listed with that line as SBD 16472.
SBD at Wikipedia. L&N became a subsidiary of Seaboard Systems in 1971 and then the line was completely absorbed in 1982. In 1986 further consolidations and mergers created CSX. CSX is likely the one who donated the caboose.
