The building was the first built on the campus in the 1960s. The Stevenson building is one of the largest on campus and houses such departments as the psychology department.

Adlai E. Stevenson was an American statesman. (visit link)
Born in California, Stevenson was the 31st governor of Illinois. During the 1960s, he served as the US Ambassador to the United Nations. Both in 1952 and 1956 he ran on the Democratic ticket for president, losing both tim to Eisenhower.
