2009 Elephant Head - San Diego - Figurative Public Sculpture on Waymarking.com

Located at the entrance to the San Diego Zoo's Elephant Odyssey area, this is one of two identical works on either side of the Horton's Way walkway.
The sculpture depicts a stylized Elephant head with a tusk...and the date 2009 below it. It is set on a pedestal which depicts the end of another tusk in its center.
There is no information at the site about the artist, materials or date. The 2009 date may not represent the date of creation or installation since three other nearby elephant sculptures have dates representing many years in the past.
