This small sculpture of fossilized extinct dung beetles is located next to an exhibit of living dung beetles. The exhibit is in the Elephant Odyssey area of the San Diego Zoo. The sign accompanying the exhibit indicates that the North American Dung Beetle is the closest living relative of these extinct critters.
