This is one of thirteen small schools in the former Pleasant Prairie school system. Each school was considered its own school district. This system was abandend in 1963 when Pleasant Prairie joined the Kenosha Unified School District No. 1

By 1967 the Kenosha Unified School District built new larger schools and these old school building were sold. This school building has now become the Genesis House of Southeastern Wisconsin.

(The information about the old schools in the Pleasant Prairie School System was supplied by some long time residence living in the area.)

The Genesis House of Southeastern Wisconsin was established in 1990 as a non-traditional Christian maternity home offering shelter and guidance to women who are facing a crisis pregnancy. Located on one and one-half acres of land in Pleasant Prairie, the facility is furnished complete with a library, classroom and living quarters that will easily accommodate four to six residents.
