This is the second court house to stand on this site. In 1924 a fire raged through downtown destroying most of the building in the downtown area including the courthouse. Construction on the current courthouse began in 1925 by the Snyder Brothers from nearby Keyser, West Virginia. It took more than two years to complete at cost of about $70,000. This courthouse was dedicated in 1927 and is still serving the citizens of Pendleton County today.
