The local arboretum is a part of the Silesian Provincial Museum. The exhibition that boasts a unique collection was formed in the place of a former castle park. The basis of the exhibition is a rich collection of local as well as exotic woody plants, subtropical and tropical plants, representatives of woody plants and herbs from all the continents. The collections is rightfully called "Woody plants of the five continents".
The dendrologic exhibition is divided into subdivisions that split the grounds into a number of interesting sections that characterize the expansion of the arboretum, its history, and also specialized activities. The oldest part of the collection is formed by woody plants, the section with new planting contains a specialized collection of rhododendrons, the preserved section of autochthonous ecotype present "Heraldic pinetree" and the so far untouched localities of nearby stonepits of culm slate and wacke. Moreover, partial expositions of plants and their habitat are being formed that reflect new information on vegetation, plant life and the influence of the environs on plants as well as the importance of the educational role of the arboretum. Visitors can admire plants that grow on moorland, peatbog, sand dunes, the shore of the Baltic sea, or in the Himalayas, collections of woody plants from China, Far East and Japan, and vast collections of woody plants and herbs from the East and West Coast and Midwest North America.
There are 7,000 species of plants, woody plants and herbs, their variations, cultivars and varieties to be admired in the arboretum. These treasured collections can be seen throughout the whole year. After a relaxing walk in the nature, you can refresh yourself in the arboretum or a nearby renowned restaurant that offers an addidtional seating outside.

Zdejší arboretum je soucástí Slezského zemského muzea. V prostorách bývalého zámeckého parku vznikla expozice, která nabízí návštevníkum unikátní sbírku. Jejím základem je bohatá sbírka domácích a cizokrajných drevin, subtropických a tropických rostlin, zástupcu drevin a bylin ze všech kontinentu sveta. Právem bývá bohatá sbírka nazývána „Dreviny peti svetadílu“.
Dendrologická expozice je rozdelena do dílcích oddílu, které svým charakterem rozvoje arboreta a historie, ale i specializovaných aktivit, rozdelují areál na radu zajímavých cástí. Nejstarší cást sbírky drevin tvorí areály výsadeb specializované sbírky rododendronu, zachovalé cásti autochtonního ekotypu „Heraldické borovice“ a dosud „prírodní“ lokality prilehlých lomu kulmských bridlic a drob. V neposlední rade vznikají i dílcí expozice rostlin a jejich prostredí, s ohledem na další nové poznatky o vegetaci, rostlinných spolecenstvech a o vlivu prostredí na rostliny a také i s ohledem na význam vzdelávací funkce zarízení. Mužete zde videt rostliny vresovišt, rašeliništ, písecných dun a pobreží Baltu, himalájské rostliny, sbírky drevin z Cíny, Dálného východu a Japonska a rozsáhlé sbírky drevin a bylin z východního a západního pobreží a stredozápadu severní Ameriky.
V arboretu roste na 7 000 druhu rostlin, drevin a bylin, jejich variet, kultivaru a zahradních odrud. Tyto vzácné sbírky zde mohou návštevníci obdivovat po celý rok. Po relaxaci v nádherné prírode se mužete obcerstvit a posedet v areálu arboreta, nebo navštívit blízkou vyhlášenou restauraci s venkovním posezením.
