Standing next to the Union Pacific tracks, this station was originally built by the Rio Grande Railroad according to the American-rails website.

At one time it was an Amtrack passenger stop, but that was moved to Green River. The building is still in fairly good condition, though, though the paint is peeling and none of the Thompson Springs signage is present. A low wooden latticework fence that once surrounded the property is in a sad state of disrepair. The sole reminder of the building's past being a faded sign in the parking area with the words: "Railroad Patron Parking Only"
