Jason White was born on June 19, 1980, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. The statue in his likeness is located on the west side of OU's Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, alongside several other bronze statues of other OU football players. The granite base is about 4' X 5' X 8'.
Jason's stance is with left arm slightly up and forward, and his right arm preparing to throw a pass. The back of his shirt has the text "White" with the number 18.
Inscriptions on the statue bases give biographical information on the player's significant contributions to the OU football program.

Jason White brought home Oklahoma's fourth Heisman Trophy in 2003 with a record-setting campaign. Raised in Tuttle, Oklahoma, he became the first Sooner quarterback to win the trophy and was named Associated Press, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated and CNNSI.com College Player of the Year. White was a consensus All-American, consensus Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004, Davey O'Brien Award winner in 2003 and 2004, Jim Thorpe Courage Award, and 2004 Unitas Golden Arm Award.

At 6-foot 2-inches and 220 pounds, White set school records for touchdown passes (40) and consecutive completions (16) and ranks No. 2 for passing yards in a season and No. 1 for passing yards in his career. He exceeded 200 passing yards in 12 games and was over 300 yards in four, including a season-high 394 yards at Texas Tech.

In 2003 White completed 17-of-21 passes in Oklahoma's 65-13 win over Texas and was 16-of-18 for 263 yards and five touchdowns while playing just the first half against Texas A&M. He ranked No. 1 in the nation in passing efficiency. He led the team to the national championship game, in the Sugar Bowl.
