If you drive through the area south of downtown Racine, you'll see a number of large, old homes. This marker is here to note that the entire area is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The other side of the sign mentions the parks in the area, and specifically the park in front of Gateway where you'll see a rare statue of President Lincoln and his wife.
