The Palatka Atlantic Bank was originally opened on 6/12/1928 at it's Oak Street location at some point after 1970 it moved to its next location which is 200 Reid street which is the address listed on the web site. I know from personal experience Palatka Atlantic was at the posted coords for two reasons. You can still see faintly the original lettering on the wall and as a small child I went with my grandfather to this bank. The bank is the only structure in the old downtown area to be constructed of limestone and granite. the building is quite imposing against the backdrop of the rest of the building in town. The architectural detail is reminiscent of the day when banks were large and imposing to represent strength and stability. This building today still stands proud.
