Behind the sanctuary of the Cathedral of our Lady of Perpetual Help, is a circular drive by the parochial school building. A center circular grassy area surrounded by a curb is the location of a statue of Jesus. This is a bronze statue with Jesus standing, holding a young girl in his left arm. A young boy is standing alongside him, and Jesus has his right hand placed on the boy's shoulder.
A plaque reads:
"JESUS WITH CHILDREN
A gift of Paul Fitzwalter Gajcy
In memory of all who died April 19, 1995
In a capsule within the statue are the names of all who died
To live now in the heart of Christ.
A fragment of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building
rests in this pedestal"
The statue reminds us of the 168 people (and 2 unborn) who died that day in the Alfred P. Murrah Building in downtown Oklahoma City, at the hands of a terrorist bomber.
