Built 1916 as a National Guard Armory it was the first Armory built after New Mexico became a state in 1912. During WW II it was used as a USO to support soldiers training in Deming. The building still bears the USO designation. After WWII it was again used as a National Guard Armory. In 1977 the building was purchased from the State of New Mexico and became the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum.

Inset into the front of the building are the words: Deming Armory. High up on the side is USO. There are also small decorative panels on the front of the building. The building is well maintained with the white panels and lettering in contrast to the reddish brick.
Era: Napoleonic - WW I
